Frequently Asked Questions
Can I print my templates at home?
Yes! Our templates are created for use with at-home printers using 8.5×11″ letter-sized paper. Many of our templates include designs (faux gold foil and marble, for example) that will print to “look” like actual gold foil and marble.
If you’re uncomfortable printing at home, I recommend using FedEx Office or your local Staples store, both of which allow you to upload your files online, and simply pick up in the store. (When ordering, I recommend upgrading to 110-lb cardstock print-outs.)
What paper should I use?
My favorite option is white 110-lb cardstock, which can be picked up at your local craft shop (use these links to Joann Fabrics or Michaels or Amazon) for less than $10 for 100 sheets.
How should I cut my paper?
If you’ve got steady hands, go ahead and use scissors. Most of our templates include pale guidelines to help you find your cut marks.
I rely on a paper trimmer like this one by Fiskars, which makes life even easier by providing clean, straight lines for multi-sheet projects. (Don’t forget to use a Michael’s or Joann coupon for 40 or 50% off your purchase!)
How should I fold my paper?
If you’re working on folded place cards or other templates that require folding, I suggest picking up an inexpensive scoring board and craft bone tool, which use grooves in a measured board to help you create clean, straight folding scores. I use this one by Martha Stewart. (Don’t forget to use a Michael’s or Joann coupon for 40 or 50% off your purchase!)
